SANTA FE

One of America's best known railroads, the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe became imortalized in thousands of toy train sets adorned in it's trademark 'warbonnet' colors. The Santa Fe became best known for it's mainline, the fastest route between the midwest at Chicago and southern California. This route hosted a fleet of famous passenger trains and later became a conduit for intermodal traffic. In 1995 the road merged with the Burlington Northern to form today's BNSF.
